How do we reach the Andaman Islands?

By air to Veer Savarkar International Airport (IXZ) at Port Blair, with direct flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Airfare is not included in the package. There is also a passenger ship from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam, but it takes three to four days each way and is rarely practical for a honeymoon.

How do the island ferries work?

Government ferries connect Port Blair, Havelock and Neil and are included in this package. Private catamaran operators also run the route and are faster and more comfortable, at extra cost. Ferries are weather-dependent and can be cancelled at short notice during rough seas, so we do not schedule tight connections on ferry days.

When is the best time for an Andaman honeymoon?

October to May, with the calmest seas and clearest water from December to April. The southwest monsoon from May to September brings rough seas, frequent ferry cancellations and reduced visibility for snorkelling and diving. We would not recommend booking a honeymoon in those months.

Do we need a permit to visit the Andamans?

Indian nationals do not need a permit for Port Blair, Havelock or Neil. Foreign nationals require a Restricted Area Permit, which is issued on arrival at Port Blair airport for most nationalities. Certain tribal reserve areas remain closed to all visitors regardless of nationality.

Is scuba diving included?

No. Snorkelling, scuba diving, sea walking and glass-bottom boat rides are all charged separately at the activity point. Havelock has several PADI-certified dive centres and introductory dives need no prior experience. We can advise on reputable operators so you are not sold an unsafe dive.

Is honeymoon decoration and a candlelight dinner included?

Yes, both are included — room decoration on arrival at Port Blair and a candlelight dinner at Havelock. Please mention you are honeymooners at the time of booking so the resort can prepare.
