How long is the Shimla to Manali drive?

Roughly 250 km and around 7 to 8 hours, sometimes longer in bad weather or heavy season traffic. It is a genuine full travel day, which is why Day 3 has no sightseeing scheduled. Anyone promising you Shimla sightseeing and Manali arrival on the same day is not being straight with you.

Is Rohtang Pass included?

No. Rohtang Pass requires a separate permit issued under a daily vehicle quota and is closed through winter, roughly November to May. The itinerary uses the Atal Tunnel to Sissu instead, which is open year-round and reaches similar snow scenery. If Rohtang is open on your dates we can arrange the permit at extra cost.

Can we take the Kalka to Shimla toy train?

Yes, and it is worth doing. The Kalka–Shimla narrow gauge line is a UNESCO World Heritage railway and takes about five hours. Tickets are not included in the package but we can arrange them on request. They sell out well in advance in peak season.

Why is Kufri sometimes disappointing?

Kufri is heavily commercialised and private vehicles are stopped well short of the top, so the last stretch is by pony or on foot, with charges negotiated locally. Outside the snow months there may be no snow at all. We tell couples this in advance rather than after they arrive.

What is the best time for a Shimla Manali honeymoon?

March to June is the most popular window. September to November is clear and much quieter. December to February brings snow but also road closures and cold. July and August carry a real landslide risk on these highways.

Is honeymoon decoration and a candlelight dinner included?

Yes, both are included. Please tell us at the time of booking that you are travelling as honeymooners so the hotel can prepare the room before you arrive.
